The skiing in Courchevel 1850 does bring the best off-piste and the guaranteed snow of high altitude. Consequently, this is the one place in Courchevel where you may face lift queues and crowded pistes.

A ski holiday in Courchevel 1300 (Le Praz), which is an old farming village, escapes the mad fray seen further up the mountain. As do ski holidays in Couchevel 1550, which are popular among French skiers and those wanting a self-catering ski holiday (although Courchevel 1550 is bit out of the loop when it comes to skiing). Further up in Courchevel 1650, which is also largely geared toward self-catering and chalet-based ski holidays, you can find some excellent skiing, good restaurants and a superb ski school. Last and oh-so-far from least is Courchevel 1850 - the rich people's playground. A ski holiday in Courchevel 1850 provides ridiculously expensive shops along with restaurants and nightlife abound.
