The skiing in Obergurgl is best for beginners and lower intermediates, making for an excellent family ski holiday destination. The ski school is good as well, although childcare is best arranged with your hotel, as the resort organises nothing in the mornings for non-skiing kids. For better boarders and skiers, there is usually good off-piste and powder on Obergurgl ski holidays, with guided tours that take you down to Sölden (not lift-linked). Freestylers won't really find much here however, with the park and half pipe being removed as apparently no one was using it.

Off the slopes, there is rather a lack of activities for non-skiers, while the après-ski is lively early in the evening and quiet later on. The ski holiday accommodation is mostly hotel-based, as are the restaurants. While the choice is somewhat limited, they are all of a good standard.

Overall, ski holidays in Obergurgl are a good for guaranteed snow. For lower ability boarders/skiers, there is plenty to amuse. Better skiers/boarders will have to hope that the powder and off-piste is good, otherwise there aren't too many challenges. And it can be a little pricey…
